First 4 projects in Angel Academy of Art: copies of Charles Bargue lithographies in graphite pencil. Never thought that just knowing some basic rules can change the style of drawing ENTIRELY. And not only style, but the whole way of seeing art.

![SALASPILS HES. oil on canvas 135x165 2008
This is my diploma-painting in the high school.
The theme I chose was apartment houses built in Latvia while it was a part of the Soviet Union.
A bit of a background: [At first I’ve to admit - I just LOVE these buildings constructed out of pre-made concrete blocks. And all of my statements can be caused by my uncontrollable emotions.] In Soviet Union in mid 70’s where released a catalog of construction details for any kinds of architectural ‘objects’. The role of an architect was pretty much like that of a child playing with LEGO: you just pick the bricks and arrange them in a combination pleasant to your or your boss’s eyes. This is one reason of my attraction or maybe even addiction.
Another: as this kind of architecture is not of those to be restored - all the long [~40 years old] and bright history can be read just looking at it. It seems each one living in one particular house has not been able to NOT to leave some traces of his/her personality behind: the balconies in more or less weird colors full of the most ridiculous things. Eh.. You just have to see it!!](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_kpikwxC8ke1qa0iy3o1_500.jpg)

Let’s keep it simple: I’m Linda Sile. At the moment 20 years old. And my home’s located in Latvia. Though not sure for how long.
There’s is an amazing expression in Russian: лягушка путешественница which means frog the traveller. It might about me, as I can’t stay in one place for too long. Not any more.
About my education: 4 years spent in art high school here in Riga, Latvia. I’ve done there soooo many things - besides the drawing and painting I had a bit of an insight in sculpting both in plaster and clay, in photography - digital and b/w [adore the latter], computer graphics [3d modeling&animation; vector&raster graphics; filming+video-editing], but somehow I couldn’t resist the magic of the painting.
After one year specialization course in Painting I escaped Latvia and found myself in Italy - in Florence where I had a chance to spend 6 amazing months studying classical academical drawing in Angel Academy of Art.
And at the moment I’m back in Latvia - continuing my track through the art jungle, painting in particular. My studies in Art Academy of Latvia are started. And who knows in which part of the world I’m gonna end up.

Hey, guys! After a while I realized - okay, I need a blog. No. I want to keep a track of the things I’m doing. Of the art I’m creating.
It might be easier to track down the progress or lack of it for myself and the same time - quite lively way to show my art. Probably, I’m just bored of standard galleries.
